LUTON FOSTER CARERS ASSOCIATION

"STRONGER TOGETHER"

The Luton Foster Carers Association (LFCA) was formed in 2020 for Luton foster carers and their families to have a voice about all developments within Fostering. We aim to work in close partnership with the Luton Fostering Service and Council Leaders for the common good of Luton’s Looked After Children.

Debra

Hi, my name is Debra, my husband and I have been foster carers for 18 years with Luton. During this time, we have been long-term carers for two brothers who stayed with us throughout their school life and then onto young adults under Staying Put and have now moved on. For the past couple of years, we have been baby carers.

I am the Chair of Luton Foster Carers Association since it was formed in late 2020.

I am passionate about supporting the children we care for throughout their fostering journey with us. It gives me great joy to see them thrive in a happy family environment, supporting them and giving hope for their future dreams and aspirations.

Shirley

Hi, I am Shirley, I am a mother of five and Nanny to three. I have been a short-term foster carer for 21 years and in this time, I have cared for over 50 different children for various amounts of time. I am passionate about supporting children overcome their obstacles and nurturing them to meet their full potential. I find it so rewarding to watch children blossom in our care and in the environment we provide.

I have joined the Foster Carers Association to support foster carers, new and experienced. I feel passionate about giving a voice for foster carers and children to ensure the services are the best they can be.
