ABOUT LUTON FOSTER CARERS ASSOCIATION

OUR MISSION

The association aims to bring foster carers in Luton together, providing them with a stronger voice that could influence and develop support services in our area.

The Luton Foster Carers Association exists to:

  • Inform Carers about developments in Fostering within Luton.
  • Have an influence in local, regional and national policy that concern children looked after and fostering.
  • To represent Carers at a number of committees and working parties including Foster Care forums, Department meetings, in order to communicate with senior staff in Social Services and Councillors
  • To work in partnership with Lutons Fostering Services advancing Carers views and recommending actions to improve the support, service and remuneration for foster carers.
  • To provide support and advice on all issues relating to Fostering, their families and all Children Looked After, within Luton.
  • To contribute to the training of Foster Carers to enhance knowledge and skills that are required and support the recruitment and retention of Foster Carers.
  • To arrange and support social events throughout the year for foster carers.

RAISING STANDARDS

The standards we would like to bring to the committee and Luton Carers are Honesty, Integrity and Openness, to be caring in all matters and the voice of all carers.
